A Salvaged Shot

This weekend was jam packed with lots of fun things, including a trip to the Gowanus location of Build-it Green with our friend David. We didn't end up buying anything but we did come away with this fun instagram shot by my dear boyfriend - and I really love it!

Yay Mike! xo

Now & Later

It's a rainy Friday here in NY... but a Friday nonetheless :)

Now:

I'm admiring this interactive installation by sound artist Spencer Topel and sculptor Soo Sunny Park - that audibly reponds to movement and looks simply magical...

Read more about the project here.

Later:

Tonight I'm going to take it easy because tomorrow night Mike and I are [finally!] going to Sleep No More. We are both really excited and it should be a really good time! I'm also going to try and get a much needed haircut at some point - woo!

Have a great weekend!

Photobooth Fun

Who doesn't love a good photobooth? There's just something about claustrophobia and picture taking that is so appealing.  Now, with this handy-dandy photobooth locator, you can find all the booths near you! Yes, you're welcome :)

Stereographic Projections

These bad-ass aerial collages, from Netherlands-based photographer Wouter van Buuren, stopped me in my tracks! The pieces were created using various photographs taken from atop buildings, bridges, etc. You can read more about them here, and visit Buuren's portfolio to see more!

Baked Oatmeal

I've been on a considerable oatmeal kick the past few weeks so I was pretty excited to come across this recipe for baked strawberry-banana-chocolate oatmeal on Pinterest.

I can't wait to try it!

Now & Later

It's friday! And... it's my birthday :)

Now:

I'm digging the hand-lettering and calligraphy work by Lila Symons...

Later:

I have BIG plans to do nothing tonight (basically all weekend) and I couldn't be happier. I can think of no better way to ring in my 26th year than with Mike, a few movies, and a whole lotta relaxing! I'm also toying with the idea of treating myself to a massage :)

I hope you all have a great weekend!!

A Reflection of Awesomeness

First, I'd like to give a big round of applause to the internet this week. I'm slightly obsessed with my finds so far, and this one is no exception. In fact - it might be my favorite...

Artist Leandro Erlich created this amazing mirrored installation, Bâtiment (building), in what I'm convinced was an attempt to brighten my day. A giant mirror reflects a full scale model house laid on the floor - which makes for some great optical illusions :)

Read some more about it here.

Fisherman Branding

Well... if this isn't genius then I don't know what is. (Am I right Dad?)

I love the simple logo design and the packaging is just plain awesome. All-in-all a job well done. Read some more background on the project here.

Able & Game

Thanks bud! Great cards from Able & Game - more here.

House Wine

This all-in-one home brew installation set intends to help you celebrate the wine-making process by bringing in some beauty. Typically, at-home equipment is bulky, ugly, and tucked away as not to be seen. On the contrary, House Wine was built and designed to show off the process.

Heck Yes

Could it really be? Two of my favorite things: typography and chocolate - have come together as one!? ...It's all happening :)

Tales from the Weekend

This weekend was pretty darn chilly in New York. Luckily, I love lounging around the house and doing absolutely nothing. Though we did manage to accomplish a few great things amidst the laziness:

We [finally] threw out our Christmas tree...

Yes, we literally threw it out of the window - which was masterfully planned by Mike as to avoid excessive needle cleanup :) so it was fun and effective.

We lounged for a bit before tag-teaming some fresh baked apple pie cookies...

They were quite yummy, especially if you like pie crust (which we do). I managed to save a few so we'll be enjoying them again later this week.

Yesterday, we hit up the grocery store for some fresh ingredients to make eggplant rollatini...

...AND oh-so-cheesy garlic bread. It was quite the feast and quite the weekend.

Hope you liked the pictures! xo
