Frigid Friday

The weather in NY this week has been depressingly cold. But, even though its 20 degrees, it's Friday - and that makes me happy. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. Stay warm!!

Tails from the Weekend

Meet Ben!

Mike and I rode up to Massachusetts on Friday to pick up this little dude. He's a jack russel-chihuahua mix and he's as awesome as he is adorable.  It's been a hectic weekend getting him settled in but we're very, very happy to have him :)

Oh, and I'm in love.

Now & Later

Right now!

I have almost everyone in the creative department watching a live puppy cam...

They sleep a lot, as you can see, but it's still amazing. Be cool and procrastinate like us!

Later:

Mike and I are fixing to do something fun outside tonight because it's gorgeous out. Then, tomorrow we're going to the Belmont Stakes, where we sadly will NOT witness a Triple Crown... but WILL have an awesome time!

Sunday is reserved for taking a trip to donate some clothes and refinishing a desk we've had in the storage room since winter - woo!

Enjoy your weekend!

Long Weekend

Here's my latest music obsession, and a perfect song to kick off the long Memorial Day weekend!

Mike and I will be soaking up the one day of sun that's forecasted for the next week (ugh), visiting my family in Staten Island, and possibly running a 4 mile race with my younger brothers.

Whatever your plans are - have a good one!

I'm taking it easy tonight, and look forward to spending some quality time with Mike :)

Tomorrow, I have plans to celebrate my good friend Laura's recent engagement - which I am SO excited about!!! A bunch of us are meeting for dinner which is sure to turn into an amazing and celebratory night!! Congrats again Laura and John! xoxo

Good Friday to ya!

Now:

I'm thinking I've just figured out how to travel the world on a budget...

The Tentsile, a tent/hammock hybrid, is being called "the world's most versatile tent." Considering they can be used in nearly any environment, are fired retardent, and both UV and water resistant - sounds like these bad boys are just the ticket.

(Thanks to Mike for sharing!)

Later:

Mike and I are going to a small gathering at a friend's apartment in Soho. Then, tomorrow is reserved for a bit of shopping, possibly some bike riding and definitely one serious, serious nap!

Sunday will be spent with family - eating food and sharing some laughs. And I can't wait!

Hope you all enjoy your weekend!

Apologies & Songs

Oh hi! Sorry for the spotty posting this week - I've been a very busy gal! A web project I've been working on the past few months launches on Monday!! Really looking forward to seeing it go live :)

Until then... have an amazing weekend, wish me luck, and listen to this(!):

P.S. - If you haven't heard The Shin's new album you should get on that!

This week has been long one, ugh. Right now the weekend is shaping up to be nice and low key which is exactly what I want/need. I'm also going to get a massage and go to friends birthday bash. Woo!

What are your plans??

Have a great weekend!

Tales from the Weekend

We spent a lot of time walking around Park Slope with friends of ours this passed Saturday. On our travels, we listened to a bagpiper wailing away outside a nearby school and a woman scream-singing the Star-spangled banner in the street.

Yesterday, I took a quick trip to the mall while my dad and Mike went fishing for a bit. Then we all came together at my grandma's house for pizza and cake in the afternoon.

All-in-all a lovely little weekend.

Photos & video by Mike, my super-talented boyfriend :)

I'm admiring these cute IN LIGHTS prints by Jeff Rogers:

You can get any letter you'd like, and I love the punch of color!

Later:

Mike and I are hitting up one of our favorite local spots with some friends of ours that are visiting from Connecticut tonight. I'm looking forward to seeing them and just hanging out. It's been a long week!

I'm also hoping to see some of my girlfriends tomorrow. Then, Sunday we'll be Staten Island bound for a family party!

Have a lovely weekend!

I'm listening to my starred playlist on Spotify. Here's a few from that list:

I'm going to start sharing a lot more music in posts to come, so watch out!

Later:

Tonight I'm heading to queens for a going away party for some friends of ours that are moving to Portland (hehe). Then, tomorrow night we're having Mike's sister and brother-in-law over for some snacks and such. Fun, fun, fun!

Looking forward to sprinkling in some bike riding too, if the weather permits.

Have a lovely weekend!

Now:

Since this is day 1 of year 2 for LDD, I wanted to take a quick look back on some of the best stuff from the last twelve months...

It's been a great first year! Lots of love, design, fun and funniness. I only hope the next year will be bigger and better. I have a new design for the blog in the works and am looking forward to sharing more of my personal work. Thanks for reading and all the support! xoxo

Later:

I have no set plans as of yet but I'm hoping, as always, to see some friends, share some laughs, and relax :) Have an amazing weekend, and thank you all again!

It's a rainy Friday here in NY... but a Friday nonetheless :)

Now:

I'm admiring this interactive installation by sound artist Spencer Topel and sculptor Soo Sunny Park - that audibly reponds to movement and looks simply magical...

Read more about the project here.

Later:

Tonight I'm going to take it easy because tomorrow night Mike and I are [finally!] going to Sleep No More. We are both really excited and it should be a really good time! I'm also going to try and get a much needed haircut at some point - woo!

Have a great weekend!

I have BIG plans to do nothing tonight (basically all weekend) and I couldn't be happier. I can think of no better way to ring in my 26th year than with Mike, a few movies, and a whole lotta relaxing! I'm also toying with the idea of treating myself to a massage :)

I hope you all have a great weekend!!

Tales from the Weekend

This weekend was pretty darn chilly in New York. Luckily, I love lounging around the house and doing absolutely nothing. Though we did manage to accomplish a few great things amidst the laziness:

We [finally] threw out our Christmas tree...

Yes, we literally threw it out of the window - which was masterfully planned by Mike as to avoid excessive needle cleanup :) so it was fun and effective.

We lounged for a bit before tag-teaming some fresh baked apple pie cookies...

They were quite yummy, especially if you like pie crust (which we do). I managed to save a few so we'll be enjoying them again later this week.

Yesterday, we hit up the grocery store for some fresh ingredients to make eggplant rollatini...

...AND oh-so-cheesy garlic bread. It was quite the feast and quite the weekend.

Hope you liked the pictures! xo
