Handmade Type

I'm absolutely obsessed with this typography experiment done by Tien-Min Liao - which "explores the relationships between upper-case letters and lower-case letters, and also records the transformation between them." Very cool!

Now & Later

Happy, happy Friday!

Now:

These "Sweater Letters" by MaricorMaricar are making me happy...

Each letter is hand embroidered and super rad.

Later:

Tonight? Drinks with co-workers!

Tomorrow? Meeting with a freelance client, getting a massage, then having dinner with my lovely girlfriends!

Sunday!? Quality time with Mike and possibly my 3rd guitar lesson! :)

Have an amazing weekend!!

Now & Later

It's friday! And... it's my birthday :)

Now:

I'm digging the hand-lettering and calligraphy work by Lila Symons...

Later:

I have BIG plans to do nothing tonight (basically all weekend) and I couldn't be happier. I can think of no better way to ring in my 26th year than with Mike, a few movies, and a whole lotta relaxing! I'm also toying with the idea of treating myself to a massage :)

I hope you all have a great weekend!!

Heck Yes

Could it really be? Two of my favorite things: typography and chocolate - have come together as one!? ...It's all happening :)

Read more about it here.

Now & Later

Happy... Friday the 13th! OooOh

Now:

I'm thinking of how delicious this pretty type would be...

Read more about it here.

Later:

Mike was in Colorado all last weekend so I'm excited to spend some quality time with him and get a few things done around the apt - like finally getting rid of our Christmas tree.

I also see a chilly but rewarding bike ride in my future as well as some home made baked goods :) Have a lovely, cozy weekend!

Type Everything

Addictive and type-tastic site Type Everything is just plain awesome.

Letterheady

Letterheady is an amazing tumblr run by Shaun Usher who describes the site as "an online homage to offline correspondence, specifically letters." I describe it as my new favorite thing! Here are a few gems from the site...

Marilyn Monroe, 1958

Frank Lloyd Wright, 1946

Bob Kane (creator of Batman), date unknown

Ray Charles, 1990

Andy Warhol, date unknown

The laboratory of Thomas A. Edison, 1923

Pepsi Cola Company, 1941

I seriously recommended perusing the site. It was incredibly hard to edit these down because there are so many good ones. So check it out! ...I'll be designing my own letterhead as I'm suddenly inspired.

Note: Thanks to my friend David for always showing me the coolest sites!
