Last supper sketchbook

Love, love love(!) these sketches by Moscow-based artist Nataliya Platonova. A simple turn of the notebook makes all the difference as each little dinner comes to life on the page. See all the work here.

Diminish and ascend

Shoot this sculptural installation by artist David McCracken at the right angle and it looks like a never-ending staircase into the abyss. Dreamy.

Fiddle Oak, otherwise known as Zev, is a 14 year old photographer based in Massachusetts. I love these photo manipulations, which are just a small portion of his work. See the rest on his Flickr.

Go Zev!

Reflecting

Artist Lilibeth Cuenca Rasmussen created reflective mannequins for her exhibition Mobile Mirrors  to make a statement about consumerism - allowing us to shift focus to ourselves and reflect on our consumption habits. But, in looking at it, I'm not sure if I want to reflect... or dance. Pretty sure it's dance. Either way - beautiful work!

Read more about it here.

Obsessed with this

Tell me this is not the most amazing, colorful living/dining room ever!? Bri Emery, from DESIGN LOVE FEST, recently posted pictures of her room makeover and (as you can see) it did not disappoint.

I can honestly say I would LOVE to ransack her place and get my hands on some of these items but that would just be wrong - so I won't. That furniture! The art! Those plants!!

The natural light in this space is perfect for all the greenery. Me and Mike (mostly Mike) have tried for two years to keep our plants alive. Unfortunately, it's been a losing battle due to the lack of sunlight in our North-facing apartment. They just will not live... it's a damn shame.

Anyway, I hope you're as interested/impressed as I am - and be sure to check out Bri's blog post to see more images and the lowdown on what she got and from where.
